Father and son pairing Barry and Ross Drogman took over the pub in 2011 when it was then a traditional pub. Their vision was poignant – to reinvent the Shepherd and Dog as a gastro pub with casual but quality dining in a desirable ambience and at affordable prices. The Shepherd and Dog has a real family feel and is perfect for Afternoon Tea with Mum or a large social gathering to celebrate an occasion.
We pride ourselves on sourcing all our food as locally and seasonally as possible. Our fish is sourced out of Billingsgate Market located in East London – the United Kingdom’s largest inland fish market. We 3 different butchers we use for different niches of meat – all out of Smithfield’s Market sourcing the best cuts for the meals we prepare. We use 2 fruit and vegetable suppliers – 1 out local supplier who provides us with local and freshly sourced seasonal organic produce out of Covent Garden and Spitalfields – the 1-stop destination for food, fashion, art, music, events in East London. We even have a cheese man who sources all the finest artisan cheeses in the South East. We have fresh food delivered every day of the week and as soon as it arrives the chefs are raring to go to create culinary magic for you.
Entertainment-wise we boast relationships with some of the finest live music acts in the South East and regularly have seasoned performers on show if you are after a more lively evening.
